Checkpoint Charlie, 21 Years Later

Berlin, as one of the focal points of the 20th century history, has many places that are of historical importance. One of these places is Checkpoint Charlie, the Berlin Wall crossing point that has always been the symbol of the difficulty to cross the so-called "best border security system in the world".

Now, almost 21 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, it has become a rather odd historic artifact with an actor that tries to keep alive the memory. If you pay € 2,- you can have your portrait made with the "American Soldier" in front of Checkpoint Charlie.
