Recently I have bought Ian Jeffrey's book How to read a photograph. Lessons from Master Photographers. It describes the history of photography using the work of 69 masters of photography starting with William Henry Fox Talbot (1800-1877) and finishing with Joel Sternfeld (1944). The book gives a concise overview of the first 150 years of photography. It will definitely contribute to my understanding of our photographic heritage and by doing so support the quality of my writings on this blog.
