Someone asked me if I saw signs of the financial crisis on the streets of New York. A question that is hard to answer. You come across many people that seem to have a hard time trying to make ends meet, but in a city like New York this is always the case. However, this time two facts did make me conclude that the crisis is still very much alive in the US. The first was a Swiss taxi driver that used to work on Wallstreet as a broker for many years, a career change that indicates that the possibilities for people to find an appropriate job are extremely limited. The second was the sign with the growing number of the United States' national dept. A dept so large that it is frightening.
