It is only a couple of months ago that I learned about Eduard Isaac Asser. The lawyer E.I. Asser lived in Amsterdam during the 19th century. Next to being a lawyer and a father to 5 children, he also pursued a hobby, i.e. he was a dedicated amateur photographer since 1842, only three years after Louis Daguerre patented his "Daguerreotype". A significant part of his heritage is available in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
