Incident at the "Dam", Amsterdam, May 7, 1945

Tonight, during the ceremony of our National Memorial Day at the "Dam" in Amsterdam, the crowd panicked as a consequence of a man that started to freak out. This is not too weird considering the attack on our Royal Family only a year ago, and the failed bomb-attack two days ago at Times Square in New York. However, it did remind me of another incident that happened on the same spot in Amsterdam. Just after the Second World War, on May 7, 1945, a German soldier freaked out and started shooting at people randomly. He killed 19 people and wounded another 117. The people he killed were celebrating that they survived the war and that they regained their freedom.
