Last Friday I visited Galerie Bailly Contemporain in Paris. The gallery represents some very interesting photographers, like for instance Jean François Rauzier and Thomas Duval. I was most impressed by some stunning conceptual works from the Paris photographer Sabine Pigalle (1963). She has made some iconic pictures that build on the idiom of historic paintings and fashion photography. Her pictures are considered controversial, since she does not shy away from using religious iconography that is considered sacred by many.
